Cookies and Milk PJ's
I couldn't resist picking up a few yards of this cookies and milk print flannel when I saw it at the fabric store. I used a variation of an out-of-print kid's pajama pattern to make this pajama set for Josh's younger sister.
Dipp Katamari Damacy Cosplay
Katamari Damacy is a really fun video game where you play as a little alien, The Prince, trying to roll up objects to build a bigger "katamari". Dipp is one of The Prince's cousins, who you can collect in your journey. Josh and I are huge fans of the game, and one Halloween he wanted to dress up as one of the characters. I used a hoodie and added legs of a matching pair of sweatpants to the hood to create the headpiece. Before stuffing, I appliqued various colors of fabric circles to the suit.
I must confess, I have no idea who this character is. My brother loves anime, and asked me to make him a coat for his Gol D. Roger cosplay. I used stills from the anime and pictures of a figure to create this coat, based on Simplicity 4923, but adding a large stand-up collar, and loop buttonholes. I used a crushed velvet, interfaced with a net interfacing, and lined with a polyester lining. The epaulets are made using this tutorial and various types of upholstery trims.
This scarf is made from reclaimed mens' suit fabrics, sewn into a long strip, then backed with polar fleece. Definitely great for cold days!
Purple Hooded Cordury Coat
I decided I needed a purple coat, and I couldn't find one that fit what I wanted in stores. So, I created my own, using purple corduroy, owl print flannel, and a cotton batting interlining. It was perfectly warm for Missouri winters!
